Network and make connections with students, their family members, staff members and faculty.
The role of an Orientation Leader is to serve as a liaison for new students as they arrive at Shenandoah University. Orientation Leaders (OLs) assist new students in their transition to college life by offering mentorship and guidance. OLs assume various leadership roles as they pertain to new student orientation which includes:
- Help to facilitate four summer orientation sessions
- Serve as a positive role model for new students and their families
- Lead small group discussions and icebreakers during group breakout sessions
- Answer questions about both social and academic aspects of university life
- Serve as a representative of Shenandoah University
- Attend two mandatory training sessions
